The Effects of Incarceration on Children and Families
Children with a parent or family member in prison may be in our church, in our classrooms or in our neighborhood. As they are faced with this harsh reality each day, they need special support to deal with their anger, resentment, depression shame and embarrassment.
The Family Life Center and Dismas Ministry are sponsoring a unique workshop by Tim Schwaller MSW on this very topic to help parents, relatives, friends and professionals understand what these children need and how to help them.
These children often present developmental, behavioral, and academic concerns. This workshop will help identify the special needs of children and families with an incarcerated family member.
“INCARCERATION: Its Effects on Children and the Family” will be held Monday, May 17 from 6:30-8:30pm at St. Francis Capuchin Center, 1927 N. 4th Street in Milwaukee.
