Local Dancer to Perform in Milwaukee Ballet's The Nutcracker
Look for a familiar face onstage in this year's production of the Milwaukee Ballet's "The Nutcracker". Sydney Farber, a second grader at Lincoln Elementary School in Cudahy and a student at the Milwaukee Ballet School, has been cast in the role of an angel. Sydney, age 7, auditioned for the part along with over 100 fellow hopefuls, and is excited to have won the role. Sydney began dancing at the age of 3, and is also currently a student at Accent On Dance located in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Being accepted for this role is one of Sydney's most exciting moments, and she aspires to continue dancing and auditioning for productions as she grows up. She is the daughter of proud parents Tim and Dana (Hipp) Farber of Cudahy.
Rehearsals for the production have already begun, taking place every Saturday and Sunday until show time. "So far, it's been hard work but even more fun," said Sydney. "My favorite part about dancing is being on stage and getting to wear beautiful costumes."
The production runs from Friday, December 11th to Sunday, December 27th. Ticket information can be found at www.milwaukeeballet.org.
