Cudahy’s police academy is a wonderful program

May 25, 2012

Public Forum:

I have just completed nine weeks of the most informative and inspiring times of my life. I want to publicly thank all the Cudahy Police that took their own time and put together this program.

I and 15 other people will never forget these nights. Sgt. Tom Livesey headed up this program and put together week after week of interesting information for us to learn. We found out things about our city that after 47 years of living here I never knew. We got to drive a police car and perform a pseudo traffic stop; we got to try and solve a crime at a pseudo crime scene; we even were invited to ride along with officers as they did their regular shifts.

There were many police officers that came and gave of their time, and I want to thank them, too. Each and every one of them did it on their own time. They do this so that the residents of our city can be more informed of what goes on in our city.

This program has gone on for a few years now, and I have heard great things about it. That is why I had wanted to take it. It is free of charge, and what you get out of it is more than you could imagine. It gave me a huge understanding of what these men and woman go through each and every day.

I highly encourage every Cudahy resident who is 18 years or older to sign up for this program. Not only do you learn more about your city, but you form new friendships. I am proud to call my new friends, friends.

Thank you CPD for everything you do for us.
