Police Report: Nov. 25

Nov. 24, 2013

CUDAHY

ASSAULT

· A 46-year-old Cudahy man was arrested for battery after an incident late Nov. 15 or early Nov. 16. According to police reports the man was contacted by a former girlfriend, a 39-year-old Whitefish Bay woman, who came to the man's home in the 4800 block of South Lake Drive. The two went for a walk along the lake path behind Cudahy High School, and the woman fell off the bluff. The woman first told police the man struck her, then recanted. The man denied striking her.

DRUG POSSESSION

· An 18-year-old West Allis man was cited for marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating after revocation after he was stopped at Whitnall and Layton avenues at 12:26 a.m. Nov. 16. The man fled and was captured in the parking lot at Hardee's, 2450 E. Layton Ave., St. Francis. Officers also recovered burglary tools from the car.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

· A 21-year-old Oak Creek man was cited for operating while intoxicated after he was stopped in the 5700 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue at 2:45 a.m. Nov. 10. The man registered blood alcohol content of 0.15 on a preliminary breath test. According to police reports, the man declined a ride home from another patron at a tavern who believed he was too intoxicated to drive.

OTHER

· A 21-year-old Cudahy man was cited twice for disorderly conduct after two incidents the evening of Nov. 14. According to police, the first incident was an altercation with another man at a home in the 2800 block of East Holmes Avenue that resulted in breaking a mirror. The other man declined to pursue a complaint but said the 21-year-old "needs help with his drinking." After the 21-year-old was taken to his mother's apartment in the 3600 block of East Layton Avenue, he was loud, profane and belligerent before he was restrained by police and held overnight due to his level of intoxication. He registered a BAC of 0.21 on a preliminary breath test.

· A 49-year-old Oak Creek woman was cited for disorderly conduct after bothering several customers at Kwik Coin Wash, 3606 E. College Ave., between 4 and 5 p.m. Nov. 17. The woman was verbally abusive to police, and requested an ambulance but was uncooperative with staff at St. Luke's South Shore Hospital. She was taken to Milwaukee County Jail.

· A 19-year-old Cudahy woman was cited for disorderly conduct after an incident in the 3900 block of East Underwood Avenue at 7:36 p.m. Nov. 19. According to police, the 19-year-old had been living in Waterford with her father and his girlfriend, but was moving to Cudahy. When they brought the woman's belongings to Cudahy an argument broke out, with the Cudahy woman cursing and spitting at her father's girlfriend.

· Cudahy police responded to two domestic violence incidents between Nov. 15 and 22.

ST. FRANCIS

BURGLARY

· A microwave oven, a TV stand and two Boston Red Sox jerseys were stolen from an apartment at 4200 South Vermont Court sometime between Nov. 17 and 20. Entry was gained by breaking a window.

THEFT

· A Cudahy woman reported her purse was taken at about 4 p.m. Nov. 12 while she shopped at Dollar Tree, 4698 S. Whitnall Ave. The purse was valued at $40, contents included a credit card and a flip phone, valued at $150.

· Police are investigating the theft of seven iron window grates from a home in the 1800 block of East St. Francis Avenue, sometime Nov. 14.

· Two women were cited Nov. 19 for separate thefts of library materials from the St. Francis Public Library, 4230 S. Nicholson Ave. A 53-year-old St. Francis woman failed to return two books due to be returned Aug. 17. A 21-year-old Milwaukee woman failed to return a video valued at $53 due to be returned July 29. The woman claimed she returned the video to a Milwaukee Public Library branch, but she had not done so and had six overdue items there.

· A Cudahy woman reported her purse, valued at $500, was taken at about 8 p.m. Nov. 22 from a cart corral at Pick 'n Save, 4698 S. Whitnall Ave. The purse contained a credit card and $35 in cash.

SOUTH MILWAUKEE

ROBBERY

· A Milwaukee man told police two men unsuccessfully tried to rob him with a knife at 7:21 p.m. Nov. 15 in the 1000 block of Columbia Avenue.

THEFT

· A laptop computer and several items of sports memorabilia were reported stolen from a home in the 3300 block of Sanctuary Drive on Nov. 17. Items taken included footballs autographed by Brett Favre and Reggie White, and a basketball autographed by Don Nelson and Milwaukee Bucks players.

· A digital media player valued at $299 was taken from a wrestling locker at South Milwaukee Middle School, 1001 15th Ave., between 3 and 4 p.m. Nov. 18.

· A license plate was stolen off a vehicle parked on a driveway in the 700 block of Michigan Avenue sometime between Nov. 18 and 20.

· A nonworking refrigerator was taken from near a garage in the 1500 block of Manitoba Avenue at 9:04 a.m. Nov. 21.

· An unknown male stole chewing tobacco from Speedway, 3102 S. Chicago Ave., at 5:19 p.m. Nov. 21.

ASSAULT

· A woman reported she was kicked by a 31-year-old Waterford man at 8:24 p.m. Nov. 17 at a home in the 2500 block of Seventh Avenue. The man fled before police arrived.

ACCIDENTS

· A Milwaukee man reported his car was struck by another vehicle while parked in the 600 block of Menomonee Avenue the evening of Nov. 16.

VANDALISM

· A resident of the 200 block of Montana Avenue reported his roommate kicked his car door the evening of Nov. 20, damaging the front passenger door.

OTHER

· A 52-year-old woman and 54-year-old man who live in the 1600 block of Rawson Avenue were ordered to stay away from each other after several altercations. At 10:17 a.m. Nov. 15, the woman accused the man of striking her, but refused a ride to a shelter. "Both parties were highly intoxicated," a police report stated. "Police have been called many times in the past for drunken verbal arguments."

· Two residents of the 1300 block of Michigan Avenue had an altercation at 1:11 p.m. Nov. 17, after one cut off the cable television access of a 43-year-old neighbor. The man cutting the cable said the 43-year-old was obtaining cable service illegally. Both men had minor injuries, but no charges were filed.

· A 39-year-old South Milwaukee woman was confronted by a 48-year-old South Milwaukee man in a road rage incident at 2:04 p.m. Nov. 19 in the 2900 block of South Chicago Avenue. The man told her not to drive while using a cellphone. Police contacted the man and "explained that it was interesting that he would be driving illegally with a revoked license." The man was cited.

· South Milwaukee police responded to eight domestic violence incidents between Nov. 15 and 21.
