Novice heroin user overdoses
A 28-year-old Cudahy man, who overdosed on heroin after using it for the first time, and a 24-year-old Cudahy man were arrested following the drug incident in an apartment in the 3600 block of East Munkwitz Avenue at 11:18 p.m. March 29.
According to a Cudahy police report:
The 24-year-old man told police that he and his friend were drinking beer when they decided to use the illegal drug. The 24-year-old, who admitted he was a heroin addict, told police that he contacted his source and arranged a heroin purchase for his friend.
After obtaining the heroin, the 24-year-old cooked it, loaded the syringe and coached the 28-year-old on how to inject himself, which led to the man's overdose. He was transported to Aurora St. Luke's South hospital and was treated. He was later arrested for possessing heroin.
The 28-year-old told police that he hadn't used heroin before but decided to try it due to personal problems in his life.
