South Shore police report: August 7, 2014 issue

CUDAHY

 

Burglary

 

 About $8,000 worth of tools were taken from a closed garage in the 3700 block of East Plankinton Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. July 21. There was no forced entry.

 

Theft

 

 Four Cudahy boys, all age 15 or 16, were cited for retail theft at 4:29 p.m. July 21 after they took several camping equipment items, with a combined value of $63.46, from Kmart, 6077 S. Packard Ave.

 

 A 25-year-old Milwaukee woman and 21-year-old Milwaukee man were cited for theft at 1:30 a.m. July 23 after they took eight CDs and $9 in change from unlocked vehicles in the 3400 and 3500 blocks of East Cudahy and Armour avenues.

 

 A bicycle valued at $250 was taken from a yard in the 3800 block of East Squire Avenue between 4 and 6:30 p.m. July 25.

 

Assaults

 

 A 21-year-old man was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct at 1:34 a.m. July 26 in the 5900 block of South Hately Avenue after allegedly punching and shoving his 21-year-old girlfriend.

 

 A 32-year-old man was arrested for battery and domestic abuse in the 3600 block of East Carpenter Avenue at 7:22 p.m. July 30 after punching his 27-year-old girlfriend.

 

Drug possession

 

 An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for marijuana possession at 8:19 p.m. July 19 after a traffic stop in the 4700 block of South Packard Avenue.

 

 A 23-year-old resident was cited for possessing drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct in the 3000 block of East Grange Avenue at 1:16 a.m. July 28.

 

 A 20-year-old Greenfield woman was cited for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia and operating after revocation at 2:33 a.m. July 29 after she ran a stop sign at the intersection of East Underwood and South Swift avenues.

 

Drunken driving

 

 A 25-year-old West Allis man was cited for operating while intoxicated at 2:27 a.m. July 19 after he drove northbound in southbound lanes of the 4600 block of South Whitnall Avenue in St. Francis. A breath test indicated a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.10.

 

 A 53-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for operating while intoxicated at 3:17 a.m. July 19 in the 4900 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue. A breath test indicated a preliminary BAC of 0.17.

 

 A 33-year-old Greenfield man was cited for operating while intoxicated and operating after revocation after he was found passed out behind the wheel of a car outside a gas station in the 2400 block of East College Avenue at 9:41 p.m. July 28. According to police reports the man had consumed no alcohol, but was in possession of CO2 cannisters, which he may have huffed to get high.

 

 A 53-year-old Cudahy woman was cited for operating while intoxicated (third offense) at 6:08 p.m. July 29 in the 5500 block of South O’Brien Avenue. She was also cited for disorderly conduct and criminal damage after she broke a neighbor's statue during a dispute. A breath test indicated a preliminary BAC of 0.21.

 

Vandalism

 

 A car was scratched outside Radio Shack, 5807 S. Packard Ave., prior to 8:40 p.m. July 23.

 

 Spray-painted graffiti was found at three adjacent locations between July 25 and 27: a home and garage in the 3700 block of East Adams Avenue, a stop sign at the intersection of East Grange and South Kirkwood avenues, and a home in the 3700 block of East Mallory Avenue.

 

ST. FRANCIS

 

Other

 

 A 50-year-old St. Francis woman reported being threatened by an unidentified man with a knife at about 10 p.m. July 28 as she waited for a Milwaukee County Transit System bus in the 4100 block of South Kinnickinnic Avenue. The man walked away as the bus approached.

 

 Police recovered a stolen van, belonging to a West Allis woman, at 10:06 a.m. July 31 in the 4200 block of South Kansas Avenue. Two males in the stolen van fled after tires were damaged when they drive off the street.

 

SOUTH MILWAUKEE

 

Theft

 

 An unidentified male stole a bottle of vodka valued at $45 from Chicago Avenue Liquor, 309 N. Chicago Ave., at 7:48 p.m. July 25.

 

 A car was stolen from the 1200 block of 15th Avenue overnight July 25-26.

 

 A $50 fire pit and $30 worth of aluminum cans were taken from a yard in the 1600 block of Manitowoc Avenue between July 26 and 29.

 

 An electronic cigarette valued at $65 and two pairs of athletic socks were taken from an unlocked car in the 1400 block of Madison Avenue overnight July 29-30.

 

Drug possession

 

 A 25-year-old Cudahy man was charged with criminal trespass, possession of a controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia after an incident at 11:53 p.m. July 21 in the 800 block of Lakeview Avenue. According to police reports the Cudahy man tried to stab a 49-year-old apartment resident who had discovered him under a stairwell. The Cudahy man admitted having smoked crack cocaine.

 

Drunken driving

 

 A 39-year-old West Allis man was cited for operating while intoxicated after he was stopped in the 1600 block of College Avenue at 2:21 a.m. July 26. A breath test indicated a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.19.

 

Vandalism

 

 Planters were tipped over and yard ornaments were damaged at a residence in the 300 block of Lake Drive on July 25.

 

 Graffiti was spray-painted on a fence in the 1300 block of Southtowne Court overnight July 28-29.

 

Accidents

 

 A car parked in an alley was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the 1300 block of Minnesota Avenue overnight July 24-25. Damage was estimated at $500.

 

Other

 

 A 16-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy, both students at South Milwaukee High School, 801 15th Ave., were cited for disorderly conduct after they fought outside the building at 9:50 a.m. July 28.

 

 Two 14-year-old males were cited for disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer after they were seen on the roof of Rawson Elementary School, 1410 Rawson Ave., at about 7 p.m. July 28, then denied at first being there. A third male was only given a verbal warning because he was honest with police.

 

 A 45-year-old South Milwaukee man was cited for disorderly conduct after he was found inside an empty gas station at 2318 10th Avenue the morning of July 30.

 

Police responded to four domestic violence incidents between July 25 and 31.
