Supreme Court reprimands ex-Cudahy municipal judge

Aug. 26, 2010

Madison — A former municipal court judge who stopped processing parking tickets to protest city policy has been reprimanded by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

John Zodrow served as municipal court judge for the City of Cudahy from 1999 until April, when he lost re-election. He thought the court was understaffed for years, and he stopped handling parking tickets issued in the city last year to protest the staffing levels and other matters.

Zodrow had reached a deal with the Wisconsin Judicial Commission to jointly recommend that he be reprimanded by the Supreme Court. The court on Thursday agreed and reprimanded Zodrow.
