Richard and Lorraine Lofy recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
The couple was married May 14, 1949, at St. Mary's Church, South Milwaukee.
They renewed their vows May 17, 2009, at Divine Mercy, South Milwaukee. The ceremony was followed by a party attended by about 100 people at Wil-O-Way in Grant Park, South Milwaukee.
Richard and Lorraine were both born in South Milwaukee and still reside there today. They met in second grade at St. Mary's School and then met later in life when Richard came home from the service. The rest is history.
They are the parents of Rick (Donna) of Elkhorn; Dave (Beth) of Medina, Ohio; Keith (Colleen) of Lake Geneva; Joe (Gerri) of Virginia Beach, Va.; Jim (Vicki) of Franklin; Elizabeth (Mitchel) of Cudahy; and Nicolette (Raymond) of Oregon.
Richard and Lorraine are the grandparents of Adam, Elisha (Ryan), Ashley, Josh, David, Matthew, Kevin, Kerry, Korey, Kelly, Kasey, Kiley, Keely, Kaleigh, Kevin (Ari), Jason, Brian (Aileen), Neal (Elisea), Amy, Jacob, Jennifer, Theresa, Robert, Connor and Carson. They also have six great-grandchildren.
Richard retired from Bucyrus after 28 years as a purchasing agent. Lorraine has been a senior citizen program director as Milwaukee Public Schools for 33 years.
