In December, J.E. Jones School plans to hold a special fundraiser and community social event to raise funds for guided reading books and a SMART Board. Guided reading books enhance the frequency students read at appropriate reading levels. The SMART Board is an interactive technology tool that combines a whiteboard with a computer.
At this special event, J.E. Jones will have a silent auction of themed baskets assembled by individual classrooms. If you want to donate items for this special event or if you know someone who would like to donate items, please contact J.E. Jones at 294-7150. Also, if you want to help with the fundraiser event, please let us know as well.
At Kosciuszko school, STARS is a group of community volunteers who mentors and reads to students with one-on-one lessons. The volunteers work with students in kindergarten through fourth grade with reading and writing. Currently, the school has about 25 volunteers devoted to this valuable and wonderful individualized instruction.
