Get in the Game and Donate Your Used Sporting Goods to Kosciuszko Elementary

Spring is a great time to pull out those old baseball gloves, golf clubs and rarely-used treadmills from your garage and basement. When you do, think about donating them to a good cause! Play It Again Sports and Dunham’s Sports are teaming up with the Kosciuszko Elementary Student Council for a sporting equipment drive. 

If you make a donation you will receive a Dunham's 20% off coupon that can be used April 23-25 and/or April 30-May 2. Also, you will be entered to win a $25 Dunham's gift certificate and other prizes.

You can drop off your gently used athletic equipment at the south playground doors located off of Morris Avenue or the north receiving doors located off of Hammond Avenue.

The collection dates and times are:

• Thursday, April 22 8:00-8:20 a.m. and 5:45-6:15 p.m.
• Friday, April 23 8:00-8:20 a.m. and 3:05-3:20 p.m.
• Monday, April 26 8:00-8:20 a.m. 

Some items like baseball gloves and balls will be kept for students to use on the playground. Other equipment will be purchased by Play It Again Sports and the proceeds split evenly.

Half of the money will go to buy new equipment for Kosciuszko, while the other half will be used to start a Cudahy Recreation Department scholarship fund for kids whose families cannot afford to pay registration fees.

Many different kids of athletic equipment will be accepted such as:

• Golf clubs and balls
• Football helmets, cleats, shoulder pads and footballs 
• Baseball and softball cleats, bats, balls, catcher’s gear, gloves and helmets
• Soccer shin pads, cleats, goals and balls
• Hockey sticks, protective gear, pucks, goals, goalie equipment and helmets
• Inline skates and protective gear
• Skateboards and helmets
• Motorized treadmills, elliptical machines, upright and recumbent bikes, weight benches and weights
