Pencils Ready, Academic Decathlon Team Advances to Regionals
Good luck to the Cudahy High School Academic Decathlon team!
The team, which qualified for the second round of regional competition, will be taking part in the essay portion of the contest on Wednesday, December 9 at Cudahy High School. The remainder of the competition will be held January 8, 2010 at GE Healthcare.
This year’s theme is the French Revolution and includes tests in Language Arts, Literature, Math, Science, Art, Economics and Music.
Academic Decathlon team members are Gillian Miner, Lauren Marvell, Maggie Duris, Zach Petersen, Dallas Berka, Rachel Schram, Kaytlyn Schwartz and Jackie Pugh. Alternates are Cassie Keith and Teddy Wolter.
The Academic Decathlon Program offers cash and direct scholarships to winning participants.
Sixty Wisconsin teams have advanced to compete in the regional competition.
