Cudahy Middle School Teacher Visits Holocaust Museum
Katie Houk, a teacher from the Cudahy Middle School was recently selected and went on a one day Milwaukee Jewish Council sponsored trip to the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. Houk flew out of Milwaukee to Washington D.C. on September 22.
"It was an amazing trip, with so much information. Since I have taught and studied this time period, this trip really put into perspective how real and important it is to learn history."
The Milwaukee Jewish Council is having a follow up day session in November for all the teachers to share and discuss how to use the trip to create something new and innovative in the classrooms.
"I think that anytime educators can gather together and discuss how to improve student learning, then many great things can happen. I am hoping to return with many creative lessons to use in my classroom," said Houk.
