On September 21, Kurt Wojciechowski, a teacher from the Cudahy Middle School, will be leaving for a two week trip to the Canadian Arctic to study the environmental changes and effects of global warming taking place in the Canadian Arctic.
Here is his first message and a link to his blog.
I just wanted to give everyone quick update about my upcoming trip to the arctic edge. On September 21, I will be leaving for two weeks to Churchill, Manitoba. This expedition is through Earthwatch and made possible by a generous grant given by HSBC in the Community (USA) Inc. I will be studying climate change and focusing on the possible degradation of the permafrost. My students at Cudahy Middle School will be following my trip. I will be focusing on supplying them with information on my trip and assigning them research and discussion questions. I know that there are many other students, parents, family members, and friends that will also be following along with my trip. I encourage all people to leave comments on each and every blog and I intend to get back to as many people as possible. When you visit my blog page, you will notice that I will leave many interesting facts about my trip. Much of the information will not just be related to science. There is a lot of history of Churchill and the different regions around the city. Please visit my page and try to incorporate the information into your classroom. My students will be keeping a journal and I will be posting questions for them to discuss or research. Please take a look at the following link and use it as you please. Thanks. Mr. Wojo.
