Discovery World Traveling Science Labs
These one-day, hands-on science workshops, allow kids the opportunity to explore and experience the many facets of science.
K4 thru Grade 6
Wednesdays at Kosciuszko School or Parkview School
Arrive between 3:15 pm—3:30 pm, the workshops end at 4:30 pm
Limit: 10 minimum / 25 maximum
$8 per workshop

Fantastic Plastics
Sept. 17 - Deadline: Sept. 10
Students learn about plastics and polymers as they experiment with a gooey polymer similar to slime.

Air Amazing
Oct. 1 - Deadline: Sept. 24
Students will become test pilots for their own paper airplane. We explore Bernoulli’s principles to see how this fact makes flight possible.

Roller Coaster
Oct. 15 - Deadline: Oct. 8
Students work in groups to construct a roller coaster using simple materials. Fun with the laws of motion!

Nov. 12 - Deadline: Nov. 5
Discover which aspects of science it takes to master being a great magician. Requirement—must be able to keep a secret!

In this lab, students will become candy chemists & explore how chemical reactions are behind their favorite sweet treats.

Oct. 22 - Deadline: Oct. 15
Students become rocket scientists as they create, engineer, and build their own bubble-powered rockets! This lab ends in a launch challenge of rocket prototypes.

Super Ball Science
Nov. 5 - Deadline to register: Oct. 29
Explore the fascinating world of inorganic & natural polymers. Students create bouncy balls from a “super” material.

Nov. 19 - Deadline: Nov. 12
Engineering, science & math come together as students design, build & race their own car, and learn about forces.
