Heavenly Hats Fundraiser at J.E. Jones a Great Success
J.E. Jones recently held a Heavenly Hats fundraiser. For this fundraiser, each student who donated a dollar could wear a hat to school. The dollar goes to the Heavenly Hats Foundation. Heavenly Hats is a foundation that provides brand new hats to people who lose their hair due to treatment of cancer.

Cudahy High School Talent Show a Huge Hit!
The first annual CHS Talent Show on Friday, November 12 was a huge success. About 300 audience members were on hand, and they were treated to sixteen one-of-a-kind acts. The event’s success rests with the fact that so many students and community members came together and positively supported our soon-to-be American Idol winners.
We are already planning for the event next November. Please congratulate the following students on their participation in the event:

Cudahy School District Staff Raise Money for Charities
It's generosity in its finest form. So far this school year, the Cudahy School District teachers, staff, and administration has raised over $8,000 (and counting) for various charities.
These charities include:
* United Way's "Combined Giving Campaign", raising $5,537. This is up $3,177 from last year.
* National Lee Denim Day (for women's cancer), raising $1,283. This is up $268 from last year.
* Pancreatic Cancer Network, raising $1,245.
* Upcoming charities: Project Concern, Ronald McDonald House, and National Kidney Foundation.
Little by little, we all work together to make a difference in our community and in the world we live. Thank you so much to the Cudahy School Distict staff for making a contribution and helping to make this difference.

November Renaissance Students of the Month

Every month, the Renaissance Program at the Cudahy High School recognizes one student from each grade as the student of the month. The November Renaissance Students of the Month winners are:
Cudahy Elementary Orchestra Winter Concert a Success!
The Cudahy School District Elemetary Orchestra Concert was held on December 8. The stage was filled with the district's yougest musicians and the concert was wonderful.

General Mitchell Students Studying with Scientists in Antarctica
On Sunday evening, Dr. Peter Flaig and Dr. Steve Hasiotis contacted the Matt Geiger, Principal of General Mitchell Elementary school, to create a unique connection. The connection is to have grade school students learn about Antarctica, science and animal life utilizing a grant from the National Science Foundation.
Over the next couple months, Antarctica’s summer months, Antarctica is open for scientist from around the world to study its unique environment. Dr. Steven T. Hasiotis from the University of Kansas will lead a team including Dr. Peter Flaig from the University of Texas- Austin, “looking for fossils in rocks that range in age from 400 million years to 200 million years old.” Their goal “is to collect and describe as many new fossils from these rocks as possible. These fossils will tell us about life and the environment on Antarctica before it was covered in ice”
2010-2011 Cudahy High School Academic Decathlon Results
On Tuesday, November 9, 2010, through hours of after school study and hard work, Cudahy High School's held their 2010-2011 Academic Decathlon team local competition. All team members did an outstanding job. Cudahy High School's team earned a total of 11,069 points. The top scorer on the team was Gillian Miner with a score of 2,397 points.
This year’s team consisted of in the honor’s category juniors Gillian Miner and Maggie Duris, sophomore Sara Kutcher, and alternate freshmen Logan Hennlich; in the scholastic category junior Lauren Marvell, sophomore Allison Pritzl and freshmen EmmaLea Marvell; and in the varsity category juniors Robert Johnson and Teddy Wolter.

Cudahy Middle School Principal Mike Moore has been named 2011 Wisconsin High School Associate Principal of the Year by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators.
This accomplishment is a great and well-deserved tribute to Moore as an associate principal who both demonstrates a positive impact on our students and works diligently to serve our learning community as a whole.

Join the Cudahy Varsity Boys Basketball players and coaches at the high school to work on ball handling skills. Children will play some basketball-type games and work on various skills in a fun environment. The Future Stars will have 2 halftime performances to show off some of the skills they have learned.

Cheer Fundamentals (Girls K-4 to gr. 8)

Cheer the Cudahy Girls Varsity Basketball Team to victory alongside the Cudahy Varsity Cheer Team. Perfect for any age and skill set. Come learn and experience the fun that happens on the sidelines: the spirit, cheers, dances, stunts, jumps, tumbling and energy!!! The girls will cheer at the game on Tuesday, Feb. 22 against Racine Case at Cudahy High School. Meet at 6:45 pm for 7:30 pm game and perform at halftime.
