Ballet and Tap Dance Combination Classes Age Groups: 3/4, 5/6, 7/8

Cudahy Recreation Department

Ballet and Tap Dance Combination Classes Age Groups: 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 :  Each 40-minute class will focus on the fundamentals of both ballet and tap dance. Classes will include a warm-up, ballet and tap exercises, basic movement and combinations.

Students should wear clothes appropriate for gym class. Ballet and tap shoes are required.

A tap and ballet routine will be performed at a Spring Recital to be held in May 2011.
Students must enroll in both Session 1 and 2 to be in the Spring Recital

Taekwondo Cudahy Club (Ages 8-14)

Cudahy Recreation Department

Students will learn discipline and respect, team building, Korean terminology, vital self-defense techniques and Songham style taekwondo, to be used only if necessary, with the understanding that the best way to avoid confrontation is not to be there. Students will be promoted in rank upon testing successfully in front of the instructor at the end of the session. There is a $50 fee collected by the instructor upon promotion in belt ranking. There are nine colored belts indicating the level of achievement: (lowest to highest) white, orange, yellow, camouflage, green, purple, blue, brown, red, black. A typical class will contain all or some of the following: teaching of Songham style taekwondo, warm ups and stretching, drills, demonstrations, forms, cardio workouts, sparring, one-steps, self-defense techniques.

Girls Rugby Club - Grades 9-12

This is a High School Rugby Club, complete with training and a full schedule of games. Rugby is a fast paced, fun, safe and exciting sport. The free flowing game is designed for players of all shapes, sizes and athletic abilities.

It involves skills such as running, passing, catching, kicking, decision-making and supporting teammates. It also involves contact elements such as tackling, rucking, mauling, scrimmaging and line-out play that are unique to the game.

At all stages, the emphasis of the players, the coaches and the officials is on safety and fun!

Pilates is a full body workout! A fun & challenging program that combines deep core strength, coordination, control and balance. Pilates works to reshape the body and help improve posture, alignment, circulation, flatten stomach and reduce back pain. It assists in creating long, lean muscles; tones and strengthens; strong, flexible joints; range of motion; and graceful movement patterns. Bring your own mat. Wear comfortable clothing.

For Adults from 6:15 am—7:15 am and 3:30 pm—8:30 pm. on weekdays when school is in session from September 7, 2010—June 3, 2011.

  1. Register at Cudahy Rec. Office M-F from 7:45 am—3:45 pm, 2915 E. Ramsey Ave
  2. Registration forms are available in the Recreation Guide or on the counter at the Recreation Office
  3. You will pay $5, as a refundable security deposit for the badge
  4. You will be issued a Walking Identification Badge that MUST be worn while walking
  5. You may hold onto your badge as long as you like, keep it over the Summer months, if you want
  6.  Please return your badge to the Recreation Office, ONLY when you will no longer use it to walk
  7. Your $5 security deposit for the badge will be returned to you

Hatha Yoga (Adults & Ages 14+)

Create flexibility, strength, and balance through flowing movements and stabilizing postures. The combination of breath (pranayama) and postures (asanas) will invigorate your body and relieve stress in your mind. The benefits of Yoga increase over time with practice, and allow a greater inner peace. All levels of experience and couples are welcome. Please bring your own mat to sit on and a blanket to help ease you into postures. Dress comfortably.

Cudahy Health Dept holds Immunization Clinics Twice a Month

The Cudahy Health Dept holds immunization clinics twice a month. All recommended childhood vaccines are available. There is a $20 administration fee per clinic visit. This fee can be waived under special circumstances. Certain adult vaccines are also available. Please call for the cost of these adult vaccines.
