Cudahy High School Gets Patrick Cudahy Grant

Cudahy High School

Early in the 2010-2011 school year, the Cudahy High School Science Department received a grant from Patrick Cudahy to purchase equipment needed in the labs.

The members of the department elected to purchase sensor equipment to use with the SPARK science learning computers, which were already in use for some labs in each of the classes offered. Thanks to this grant, the capabilities of the SPARK computers were expanded. Students gain a better experience in science as a result. With more accurate data collection, concepts illustrated during labs are more easily learned. In the pictures, students are using pH sensors to measure the effect carbon dioxide has on the acidity of water. This is meant to simulate what happens to the blood stream during physical activity.
