2011 Cudahy School District Spelling Bee Winners

On February 24, at Lincoln Elementary School, the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students competed in the District Spelling Bee. To qualify for this competition, the students had to win the classroom competition and then their grade level competition.

The competition was great, but in the end Ian Liban, a 4th grader from Lincoln, claimed the title of District Spelling Bee winner.  Emily Peschong, a 6th grader from J.E. Jones was the runner up.

The Spelling Bee lasted 44 rounds. This was the longest competition in years.

The judges of the Spelling Bee were Gail Schacht, President of the Cudahy School Board and Rebecca Roepke, Director of Cudahy Public Library. The speaker and coordinator of the competion was Kristin Schlingman.
