So we are moving along with development in Cudahy especially in District 3 folks. Just wait until we get in full swing of things.
So I was sitting chatting with a Cudahy resident at Sheridan Park before the fireworks. This person said to me that he is so sick of non-residents coming into Cudahy for the fireworks. According to him they take up many of the good spots and just make the park so full of people and the traffic is terrible.
Well last week’s Cudahy was disappointing at 42 people, well this week we had 15!

At the Cudahy School Board Forum, my second question was: Why don’t the school board members have email addresses?
I attended the School Board Forum tonight and thought the four in attendance (Scott Mulqueen (inc.), Crystal Silkwood, Bob Grams, and Tim Schwartz) did a good job.
This communication is to update residents regarding the amount of road salt the City of Cudahy currently has available, as misinformation is spreading throughout our community. Contrary to what you have heard, the City of Cudahy is NOT out of salt. However, the pile is dwindling as it is for other county and local agencies. As a matter of fact, due to proper calibration of equipment and other techniques used by the men and women of our Department of Public Works, we are in better shape than most communities.
Recycling in the City of Cudahy will be one day behind during the week of January 6th. Due to the inclement weather, as of now, recycling will be collected one day than your normal pick up date. If this changes, we will let our residents know immediately.

On Monday the Board of Public Works after considerable amount of time, information and hearing from the City Accountant that our Capitol Borrowing would be difficult to pay for new garbage trucks and the expense of the City of Cudahy continuing picking up the trash, plus the fact that if privatize the trash collection with Advance (who is doing the pickup of recycling for us) it would save the taxpayers $220,000 each year, there was very little way the Board could go.

Over the years, Mayors and Common Councils in Cudahy have talked about getting a program to convert duplexes to single family dwellings and in the end no program.
As many of you know I am a big believer in getting info out and including many people related to the issue(s). One of the reasons is to make sure the proper people see the info or can get the info to the right people.
At last night’s Board of Public Works meeting we were to discuss possible ways of handling the dump fee. Much of the information to base the vote on the 3 options were incomplete and speculative. The City Accountant’s numbers didn’t agree with the DPW numbers we got.

Structural and cyclical deficits are two components of deficit spending. These terms are especially applied to public sector spending which contributes to the budget balance of the overall economy of a country. Deficit spending, or simply deficit, is defined as over-spending: the amount by which spending exceeds revenue over a particular period of time. The total budget deficit, or headline deficit, is equal to the sum of the structural deficit and the cyclical deficit (or surplus/es).

As promised I was able to get the Dana form Brixmor (owner of Packard Plaza) to the Common Council to be grilled by the Mayor and Council members.
As many of you know Packard Plaza, even though it is NOT in District 3, was an important topic for me during the Spring Election. Most importantly that someone from the Packard Plaza Owner’s management team come in person in front of the Common Council and the Public to explain what is going on…
Please stop on down to the Cudahy Historical Society who will once again open the doors to the old rail road depot today.

Some of you may be aware of how the City makeup of who are serving on the Cudahy City Boards, Commissions, and Committees. For those that do not, there are several boards, commissions, committees that are served on by citizen members, as well as members of the Common Council. These are called Standing Committees of the Common Council.
Gone are doing it by District, instead the city will be cut into two pieces, North of Grange Ave and South of Grand Ave.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the voters who have voted for me, and all citizens of Cudahy that I will represent while I serve as Mayor. I would also like to thank my family, all of the volunteers, supporters, residents who put up signs, talked to their friends, reminded everyone to vote, and those who gave me a few minutes of their time to listen to me, and share your concerns and ideas for the community.

I hope that I EARNED your vote and would like nothing more than being able to serve you as alderman of the third district. I know it is your voice and agenda and NOT mine that matters. Not pushing my agenda, but the people’s agenda!
This is the literature I was handing out at the Cudahy Middle School forum.
Randy Hollenbeck for Alderman - Bringing the POWER back to the PEOPLE!
Can someone, anyone tell me, tell us what my opponent’s campaign platform and plan is?
Can someone, anyone tell me, tell us what my opponent has done for Cudahy during his 3 years living in Cudahy?
3 more lost/missing signs. Odd how the “kiddies” only took out my signs at these 3 locations when other people who are running were all right next to them. Just odd!!!!
I would like to point out that Jay Weber and I are friends. He has endorsed me and does have a history with my opponent Zachary Wisniewski which goes to Zachary Wisniewski's character and demonstrates the type of person, leader, and alderman Zachary Wisniewski would be. Jay would be called a character witness.
Cudahy District 1 Voters this April 2nd you have an opportunity to elect someone who has vision, fresh ideas, the spirit and heart that pairs well with drive and determination. By now you have seen Justin Moralez campaign; come to your door to talk about Cudahy and how he can help the issues we face. You have read his literature and possibly heard him speak.
I just wanted to share with everyone the Cudahy Ice and Snow Policy. While going door-to-door many of you have asked me why does it seem like this year the roads were not done as close to the curbs as possible, and you caught on that many of the roads were center lane plowing only.
I had a conversation with Bob Grams asking why he didn’t answer the questions from 2013 Cudahy School Board Election – Questions and Answers from the Candidates and inside it stated (Bob Grams did not participate in these questions.)
During this election season, when people come to your door, are they being genuine, open and honest or are they wearing a mask as if it is Halloween and hiding who they truly are?

A word from Sgt Blunt
I have to say, if you have not done the Citizens Police Academy you really need to. My wife and I both did it and we both walked away with a better understanding of things and a deeper appreciation for all the Cudahy Police do and are up against every day.
Below is Zachary Wisniewski’s blog, admission that he is misquoting, taking out of context, making things up with his own version of what was said. It also took him many times to even get that.
So I was told by a member of Get it Now’s management that their District Manager on Thursday March 7, 2013 made the decision that once the lease is up in 2 years they are moving!
This is an emailed response to my post “I Am Calling a Foul on This One Zachary Wisniewski”
So while canvasing at door-to-door meetings, I came across a house with a Zachary Wisniewski sign @ 3627 East Munkwitz Ave. Now I don’t shy away from the houses with the signs at all. I don’t find them intimidating, but do find them a welcomed challenge.
Dear Cudahy Citizens of District 3,
Yes Zachary Wisniewski also changed his moniker/handle name/user name on the Now blogs to conceal his name.
So many of you know I stated that Cudahy’s Economic Development Director Brian Biernat’s focus has not been on development but on his other job duties!
One of the processes of running for election is seeking endorsements. Some people will grant them and sometimes they say no.
Had 3 people let me know my election signs went missing this weekend. Replaced 2 of the 3 and will get the third today.
Randy Hollenbeck for Alderman - Bringing the POWER back to the PEOPLE!
As I go door-to-door I have been leaving this Literature/Brochure with people.
Well folks, I see a certain person has changed their campaign website to now reflect their blog. Before it just said blogging and now it has their blogs name and hyperlink to it!
People are astonished by evolutionary that move to revolutionary and my take on bringing the people of the 3rd district back into power over our local government is just that!
I am NOT a Johnny Come Lately on Packard Plaza nor am I just now discovering development should have been one of Mayor Day’s top priorities. He is too little too late!
We should all think of my blog as a repository of information, hopefully together with a description of City related things, when it appears and how to troubleshoot it.
I was told that people are not interested in fluoride in the water and I should just drop it! Well I guess it was important enough and the City of Cudahy is getting questions that they updated the City Website for it.
If you have been reading the blog for a while you know we get into these patterns where people come out of the woodwork to attack and belittle me. These usually happen on the days or just after the days I write a blog post critical of someone or something they feel they need to defend.
Some people have claimed it was a shock that I was running for alderman. I have taken all of this with great thought and anyone that has been reading the blog since 2010 knew I would be running for Alderman in 2013 as I talked about it in many blog posts.
Let me start by saying, I think Justin Moralez’s idea are great! We need to start to try things outside the norm and outside the box. The same old same doesn’t work.
I would like to thank each and every one of the Cudahy Police Department Officers for the honor of your union’s endorsement. When I receive the official Endorsement letter, I will post it up for everyone to see.
Dear Cudahy Citizens of District 3,
Dear Cudahy District 3 Residents,
I would like to start this post by thanking District One Candidate Justin Moralez for thinking of me and including me to participate in this event. I would also like to thank Milwaukee Alderman Tony Zielinski for his participating and ideas. As well as Mayor Day for participating in it.
This last weekend, I heard something that was not exactly the truth but a revisionist who is a politician (Cudahy Mayor Day) hoping to get re-elected (fudging) and he was caught off guard when talking to another elected official (Milwaukee Alderman Tony Zielinski) about Wal-Mart.
Office space fills as rents drop
I want people to take notice that one of the Mayor’s JOBS is economic development and the pursuit of finding, attracting and bring (landing) them in!
As the April election is rapidly approaching, don’t forget to check out my run for Cudahy Alderman Facebook page for updates and conversations that are not on the blog website.
Here is your chance to be part of the solutions! I would like to ask my readers and those interested in discussions and idea sharing with Cudahy Aldermanic District One Candidate Justin Moralez, Milwaukee Alderman Tony Zielinski and myself to continually enhance the South Shore area to stop down and talk with us.
Sears Holding Corp – Kmart
Further below is the meeting agenda. As you all look at, notice Mayor Day is going to give updates to Packard Plaza. So do you think if I didn’t make this a big point and it wasn’t an election year he would be talking about it?
Candidate Mayor Day,
I have talked about that development is a major issue in Cudahy and that our different segments of City Government pertaining to it are not on the same page, no check that, not even in the same book. It is dysfunctional and with dysfunctional things it is spreading to other things. It spreads like cancer.
So my wife was at the Franklin Wal-Mart checking out and two women in front of her were talking about the new South Milwaukee Wal-Mart opening in April.
I want to share with you a sad but typical Cudahy story. I have edited this so the person’s personal stuff is not there and fixed a few spelling errors and adjusted the formatting for the blog, but going door-to-door, I have been hearing this as well.
I find it funny that all these people who have been against me and commenting on the blog for the longest time are suddenly claiming they are in my district and suddenly they claim their minds are made up that I am a hot head and they are now NOT going to vote for me and they are talking to their neighbors about me!
Okay people, Mayor Day is finally talking publicly about Packard Plaza! The constant pressures we have placed on him and Brian Biernat have got them interested in the situation there.
So another “Condo” project is being proposed for Cudahy. This must be some of the Earth shattering Kaboom development we were promised!
So retired Cudahy DPW personnel, Mike Clark, who is running for Alderman in the Cudahy 5th District race stated this:
Dear soon to be elected Mayor,
As Alderman for the 3rd District of Cudahy I will be pushing that Cudahy’s Economic Development Director Brian Biernat comes to one Common Council meeting a month and explain in meeting and during the open session what is going on.
Well I have talked about the City of Cudahy’s Economic Development website and how out of date it was. Basically untouched since Lara Fritts left in 2010.
We will have to wait and find out if Iron Mountain is going to keep the Cudahy Datastore open.
Dear citizens of Cudahy,
Cudahy’s Economic Development Director Brian Biernat is looking for an assistant at $40k plus benefits to make up for the work he cannot do given his focus is on inspection.
Well folks there are some rumors floating around and as you know I will air them out and see what happens.
I would like to thank the Cudahy residents who gave me a few minutes of their time as we met at your door during the December holiday season as I kicked off my campaign for Mayor. I have listened closely to your concerns for our city, which I share with you.
The Cudahy Wal-Mart battle showed exactly why Cudahy is/has been on a downslope – NIMBY
Mayors are to be the biggest cheerleader for the city.
Thank you Dan Vnuk for letting people know about this!
Information provided by City of Cudahy (Carolyn Toms-Neary)
We as a community have issues in Cudahy and we need to face them before they will get better. The Cudahy Police need all of the residents of Cudahy to help them.
When considering who you are going to vote for keep these things in mind:
Please come on over today to the old Cudahy train depot at 4647 S. Kinnickinnic Ave between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and have your picture taken with Santa.
Given we live in Milwaukee County and part of our taxes goes to the County, for the April 2nd non-partisan elections I would like to see the follow 2 non-binding referendums added to the ballot:
I have had many people email me that the City of Cudahy should with our tax bills send us a voucher for 1 free day to use OUR city dump.

This is a slight reprint of my Nov. 12, 2008 post titled “Leaf Collection Times and Issues”.
It is December so Winter Parking rules are in effect. I think the rules we have in place are very good and work well.
I setup on my front step to hand out candy while my wife took my daughter trick-or-treating.
It is apparent that people are not remembering how things really were in 2006.
So in South Milwaukee Dollar General announces it is expanding its store there and in Cudahy Saturday September 22nd Aldi's closed down for good.
I know this might be a little dated but I thought I should thank County Supervisor Pat Jursik anyways. Better late than never!
This was in my inbox from a concerned Cudahy Citizen on the City of Cudahy’s New 2012 Fall/Winter Newsletter. I am hearing that people are offended by some of the items in it.
The new Cudahy post office is in the Packard Plaza now next to Dunham’s sports in Quality Candy Shopee’s vacated location 5656 S. Packard Ave. Cudahy, WI 53110
I happen to run into former Cudahy Mayor John Hohenfeldt. The first thing I said to him is please run for Cudahy Mayor, please run! We need you!
So it is that time again that we find ourselves with a City that just doesn’t want to get information to the public! It makes me think that underhanded things happen and are happening. This leads us to have to fish for information and lets rumors fly. Well you know I will air them out and let things fall where they may. Flush them out and bring light to them in a city so bent on keep people in the dark which keeps the rumor mill working overtime.
So I am hearing that Merchandise Outlet is leaving Cudahy in a big part to the land owner upping their rent to make up for the loss in revenue from the empty spaces!
‘You’re not special’ graduation speech sparks buzz
Here is an email from a reader and I am hoping the City Accountant can shed some light on this since he reads the blog.
So I have received some emails about the construction of Packard Ave and have talked with a few DPW guys (yes they are still talking even with the gag order in effect)
I have to say, Cudahy has the best parade and fireworks around and this years was just as good as years past!
This is the day of our Nation’s birth. We are 236 years old today.
So the 2012 Cudahy’s Fourth of July Parade theme this year is "Proud to be an American".
Please come to the Cudahy Park tonight for the Chase Movie Nights where we will be watching Grease. Show starts around 9pm. This is the last movie for this year.
Well I keep hearing from people around Cudahy that Aldi’s is looking at leaving and moving to… yep, you guessed it, South Milwaukee. Oh yeah not far from the Wal-Mart and to an area with more traffic.
Someone, anyone, do you know why the illegal meeting minutes of the Cudahy Reorganization Committee held March 29, which were probably approved by the Common Council are not out on the city’s website?
Well the Roadrunner Milwaukee terminal is history in Cudahy. They have moved to Brown Deer.
Please come to the Cudahy Park tonight for the Chase Movie Nights where we will be watching The Muppets. Show starts around 9pm.
Please come to the Cudahy Park tonight for the Chase Movie Nights where we will be watching Cars 2
While act 10 was set forth as a tool for local school districts to control costs, here in Cudahy it is being used as a hammer to "get" people the administration does not like, to fund their "pet" projects, and get ready to come to the taxpayers in a "poor is us" state for a referendum in November. Is Act 10 really working in Cudahy, let's examine.
Cudahy Alderman Jason Litkowiec files complaint with city over taxpayer's Pro-Walker Sign!
So is it a good or bad thing for Elected Officials of Nonpolitical races to sign to Walker recall like Cudahy School Board Member Joan Haske, Milwaukee County Supervisor Patricia Jursik Or Cudahy Alderman Jason Litkowiec did?
Here is a question that has perplexed me, angered me, and simply made me question the thought process and wisdom of our School Superintendent and School Board members in regards to the intent NOT to allow Taxpayers to interact with the School Board members in easily used email!
Q. - I have yet to get any details on what insurance the Cudahy district uses. But as I’ve previously said, the current Board approved cutting athletics, art & music, clubs, and dissolving positions.
So after an illegal meeting and an invalid vote, Mayor Day is rushing this to the agenda!
Vote for Tina Dondajeski and Gail Schacht today for Cudahy School Board.
City Attorney Eberhardy,
I was able to attend the meeting and Wisconsin State Open Meetings Law Violation occurred during the meeting.
So everyone today is another meeting of the minds @ 5:30pm at Cudahy City Hall.
I would like to see the Elected Officials of Cudahy get serious about the real things plaguing our City.
This is a call out to all of you that have attended or had kids attend or planned to attend the taekwondo program at the YMCA, please read and email Mr. Yamachika.
So I was emailed a PDF version of the April 2012 edition of the Milwaukee Magazine with this email message.
I just want to let people know that in the 2900 block of Holmes Ave garages have been broken into. They kicked in and used a pry bar to open the service door and steal tools and equipment.
The 2012 Cudahy Police Department Citizens Police Academy begins on Thursday, March 29th at 6pm at the Cudahy Police Department, 5050 S. Lake Drive. The class will be held from 6pm-9pm on subsequent Thursdays and will cover a wide variety of topics, including firearms training, evidence collection, Drunk Driving laws, Use of Force, Domestic Violence, and much more. Following the academy, a banquet will be held.
The great committee of super thinkers will approve and advise the Common Council to move forward with Reorganizing the City of Cudahy and moving towards a Part Time Mayor and Full Time Administrator.
Search the database here: http://www.putwisconsinfirst.com/byzip.php
So a reader emails me Feb 28th that Alderman Otto, the Chairperson of the Reorganization Study Committee, emailed this to them:
Remember - Reading between the lines and the intent of all of this!
This synopsis below comes from one of the few people to attend this meeting.
Here is what I am hearing:
Remember how a few people like Mike the Dead President who thinks I don’t know what I am talking about and am misinformed.
So I received this email:
I heard that there is the possibility of a school referendum being considered for the November ballot.
Well people, it seems you and I are causing Mayor Day and his efforts to reorganize the City to his needs some issues. “We” seem to be undermining his efforts in the dark of the night to bring these things to reality.
RE-ELECT * GAIL SCHACHT * APRIL 3RD
Let’s get some background information so we are all on the same page. We will then go over why we don’t need them and then some brutally honest questions and comments.
I love hearing all those lefty” the sky is falling, this is the worst thing that ever could happen”! - You know the doom and gloom types!
Please vote today and don’t forget your Photo ID as it is now required!
Let me start out by saying this information has NOT been validated and should be taken as a rumor until proven factual.
While I get a few emails monthly that my blogs are just chucked full of negative things including portraying a negative image of Cudahy, I have to stop and consider if that is the truth!
December 12 1945 – The Milwaukee Journal
Monday June 5th 1989 - The Milwaukee Journal
I am sure most readers have seen the MJS article titled “Ex-Iceport site in Cudahy draws interest” if not here it is:
Here is the memo floating around (see below). I am shocked they didn’t leave the pictures that I guess have been accompanying the memo.
I am hearing that a memo is being circulated that makes the statement not to share any information with bloggers that it can hurt city business!
I heard from Cudahy Alderman Dick Bartoshevich that he never supported McCue and he is not sold on a city Administrator. In fact, he said at Otto's meeting that the costs were not what people want to hear about.
So, the subject of a Part Time Mayor and the hiring of a City Administrator is a cause of great concern along with the speed at which Mayor Day wants it done. Before the 2013 election cycle!
Fellow blogger Heather Liban wrote a very nice post titled “Using Email Etiquette” and one of her readers – GregfromCudahy writes this comment:
Mr. Biernat’s hiring was approved in June 2011 and he started his part time position on October 3, 2011 as the Director of Economic Development.
Let’s take a look at Mrs. Jursik's response to Sheriff Clark. Titled - Get off your high horse and help
So, there is a push to make the Elected Mayor of Cudahy Part Time and bring in a Hired/Appointed Paid City Administrator. And there is a RUSH to do so!
Two stores in the Milwaukee area possibly in trouble could be the Brookfield and Cudahy K-Marts. We will have to see once the list comes out.
Fellow blogger and friend Kevin Fech asked the question, “If the Packers Can Make Adjustments, Why Can't Government?”
I want to state that I have received many emails asking, “Who are our CDA Members and how do I email them?”
Okay Cudahy residents I am just sick and tired of hearing that Cudahy development is “In the Hopper/In the Pipeline”. That statement has been the moniker of the McCue administration and is now the Day administration. I don’t SEE anything coming of it!
So we took my daughter trick-or-treating to her aunt’s house so she could go with her cousin in Bay View.
Listen up Mayor Day, Alderpersons and the Head of the
When are the powers that be in Cudahy going to wake up?????
I received an email (I will post the chain below minus personal info) that if I had some free time on my hand I would normally follow up more on. Work has been so, so busy that I just don’t have the time to do it.
Most people know that I am pro-Wal-Mart. That isn’t a secret! One would only need to remember the Wal-Mart Now forum comment section, look back at my blog posts, or know that I was the lead Cudahy citizen on the Wal-Mart group to know that. It really comes down that I am pro-business. I would support ShopKo just as much and hard.
I want to redirect people to an awesome post done by Heather Liban on
This is an email response to my post called A Conversation With Two Cudahy Elementary Teachers from Angie Fech.
I recently had the opportunity to sit-down and talk with two Cudahy Elementary teachers.
This is a continuation of “From the Email Inbox”, which was a frustrated City taxpayer and resident on the lack of information in the City of

A tad bit of time ago, I received an invitation to a friend of mine, who is a Cudahy Police Officer, retirement party. I was so looking forward to going. So I wrote on the family calendar July 30th.
I have been hearing and receiving much misinformation on this ongoing contract and collective bargaining issues when it comes to Cudahy School District.

A note from Tina Gamache Dondajeski:
I just wanted to thank everyone who attended, those that participated in the event, those that helped out setup/cleanup, helped organize and coordinate and Cudahy Officer Robert Jachowicz.

It appears somewhere, somehow, that the cleanup costs for the former Cudahy Kohl’s site are wrong by somebody or someone.
I just wanted to thank Mayor Day for getting the graffiti on the MMSD Bridge, just off of Edgerton and Delaware, taken care of.
I have been hearing from many people that the property owner might want to donate or sell the land for a dollar to the City of
