The Way I See It!

Cudahy Police Matters

On Sunday, July 25th, 2010, at 0103 hours, the Cudahy Police Department received a 911 Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Transfer from a citizen who reported hearing what they believed to be gun shots coming from the 3600 block of East Holmes Avenue in Cudahy. 

 

The investigation showed that a fight between two groups of people occurred in the 4900 block of South Kirkwood Avenue, which resulted in one male subject being shot in the left arm.  The male victim was transported to St. Luke’s South Shore in Cudahy by personal transport, was treated and was released from the hospital with a single gunshot wound to the arm. 

 

The defendant stated that he was a member of the Latin Kings gang and carried a gun with him at all times for his protection, as the defendant believed there were some members of the Latin Kings who want him dead.

 

The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office has issued charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Repeater and Recklessly Endangering Safety (First Degree), Use of a Dangerous Weapon, Repeater.

 

After the shooting the defendant had disposed of the firearm.  The Cudahy Police Department was able to recover the handgun.

Criminal Complaint - Szuta, James R

 

 

On June 25th, 2010, John Weinhold was located deceased in the City of Cudahy, within the 5700 block of S. Robert Avenue.  The Cudahy Police Department has conducted a joint homicide investigation with the Oak Creek Police Department. 

 

On Thursday, July 29, 2010, James R. Szuta was arrested for the First Degree Intentional Homicide of John Weinhold.  James Szuta was arrested at his South Milwaukee residence without incident and transported to the Criminal Justice Facility.
