Kevin, this seems nice, but it is fluff. Get more specific on how you will fix things in Cudahy or how you differ from the silent other two. I know Mcscrewball will just sit on the sidelines collecting a paycheck and Tony will do what he can, what that is I don’t know since his website has nothing on it and he doesn’t say much.

Tony, please see this and respond as well, your website is pathetic. It is shinny with nothing in it!

So Kevin it is your time to shine, just spell out a game plan and are you going door to door getting your name and what you stand for out there, because you have not come to my house, neighbors or friends in Cudahy. I see a few signs and if it was not for this blog, I wouldn’t even know anything about you.

South1. I am going door to door this weekend and next. Please let me know your address and I will make it a point to stop by. If you like you can call me or send me an email at the numbers above

Let’s just say, I am known to many and when you come to my house you might know who I am, but you are the unknown. You need to make the rounds now if you are serious about being the mayor and beating the major!

I will give you are few free tips. Define yourself when going door to door and give examples of what you will do differently than both of your opponents. People want specifics not colorful words. Be strong and confident in your answers. Leave them with some papers on you and why they should vote for you. I hope you are not just think of going door to door on just the weekend. It needs to be everyday. Cudahy could use a mayor who takes the job seriously and right now I question if you are serious. If I don’t know much about you and I am connected in the city, what does the everyday person know, zero! You need to be laser focused since mccue and day are sleeping knowing they are one and two and you are the odd man out. Change that! You need to hit mcdonalds in the early morning. You need to work on the door to door where mccue has signs the hardest. Change their minds, facts and lack of anything is on your side.

If you dont, you will be a blip or bump in the election!

Here is what I wanted to here…
My first year goal will be to work closely with Jim Heiden, Cudahy School District Superintendent, on selecting and converting a primary school into a Montessori school. This will get outsiders interested immediately, but more importantly it would be great for our kids and the school system.
My first term goal will offer final plans and funding for a major shoreline development project at Layton and Sheridan that will serve as the crown jewel for a retooled 2020 comprehensive plan. It will offer things like a concert area (jazz in the park south shore?), wine/beer garden, a causeway connecting The Landing to the north and the golf course to the south and boat launch capabilities. Also, I will immediately convey interest to UWM on offering a home to their fresh water research facility that was turned down by another project on the Milwaukee lakefront; this will be a component of my shoreline development project. Countless people have talked about business development but I plan on channeling tax payer dollars into this public project and then the high quality businesses will follow, without taxpayer money.
As for spending, I will cut funds to proven failures, economic development departments, failed projects, TIF funding for private projects, buying private real estate for no apparent reason, etc. The economic development department is a huge black hole in the budget, its time to reinvest in the cities assets.

Kevin: Free advice here!
South 1 makes alot of excellant points. You need to be out every evening during the week between now and the primary. Weekends, pound it hard, late morning early evening. Watch the weather. If it is warm on the weekend, you will find alot of people out and not at home.

Leave your literature on the door with a written note. Sorry I missed you. Kevin.

Romi1 makes some good points in an unrealistic world. You need to remember that Milwaukee County owns our lake front, and they won't develop a popcorn stand there! Our current supervisor, like the past, is ANTI lake front development. Other than pulling weeds and riding bikes, that is all Milwaukee County wants in our parks here! We are luck they spend 15 cents on the pool here. Other than that, don't waste your time trying to name any improvements funded by Milwaukee County in a park located in Cudahy.

You are the underdog and the absentee ballots all ready went out. McCue did 2 mailings right at ballot time, and Tony Day appears to be silent. Other than some slight literature drops in the first district, he has some new signs going up (if you drive around), but otherwise he has been silent.

Organize an army of volunteers to hit the streets with a literature drop the weekend before the primary. Even with the Mayor and Judge primary, you are probably looking at a 20 to 25% turnout. You need to blast, hoping for the right results.

The 1st, 4th and 5th districts have the heaviest voter turnout. However, don't underestimate the newer home owners in the 2nd district.

Give it hell kid, and you may just make it through the first round! Good luck!
