I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.
This is going to come as a shock to the elitist crowd that clamored, cried, and protested how bad Wal-Mart is. Well here is a very informative IKEA article. It will have IKEA supporters like Mayor McCue and Alderwoman
How could an upscale (which that is debatable) place like IKEA be as bad as Wal-Mart?
Please read the article, but here is a quick summary to stimulate your taste buds and whet your appetite.
“It talks about the discount chain IKEA; the Chinese labor force where decision-makers claim they can't afford to consider "human rights"; how nothing is made to last anymore and we have come to believe that is the best we deserve; and how the cheap labor available in other countries has hurt the labor force here because the employers threaten to send the jobs overseas if they don't give back some of the union benefits gained over a long time period.
But this link provides a different point of view and another piece toward getting at the truth of what needs to change.”

Ikea is a hyperbole that the liberals and elites look to as a success in up-scale. They however forget to mention or dont even know the corporate structure of Ikea and how the corporation pays close to zero taxes. Ikea is not only one of the world's largest wood consumers, it is also one of the world's largest charities. Ikea was setup up as a charitable foundation in the 60's or 70's. Sounds ok so far, but... Ikea is one of the least charitible charities in the world. In fact if you do more research you can find many stories on the intricate tax loops and dodges which in the end allow Ikea to only pay 3.4% effective corporate tax. The foundation does make huge payments to oddly named shell companies, which seem to be owned by the original family that started Ikea the Kamprads.
Even though I know this, I still have shopped at Ikea. I find it interesting that the Dutch and other countries allow them to continue to get around taxes. Image is everything according to some.
