Questions for Cudahy Citizens Regarding the 2010 Mayoral Election

2010 Election, Cudahy, Election, Mayor

PSST!  WANT TO BE LT. GOVERNOR?

On the Democratic side, party leaders theorize that Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, leading the ticket, would benefit from a Lieutenant Governor from outside of Milwaukee.  I'm not so sure.  I don't think that anyone cares what county the Lt. Governor lives in.

Right now, in addition to already announced Milwaukee State Senator Spencer Coggs and Alderman Tony Zielinski, there is a strong potential field of elected officials from Milwaukee who would serve with distinction as Lt. Governor.  This includes Cudahy Mayor Ryan McCue, County Supervisors Marina Dmitrijevic and John Weishan, and Aldermen Mike Murphy and Nik Kovac.  And there are others.

Here are the questions:

Do we as Cudahy citizens want to put time and taxpayer money into a Mayoral Candidate who wants bigger and better things and could quickly leave if something more shinny comes along?

Is it a good thing to want bigger and better?  For whom?

If your eye is not on your current job, but other things does it serve the public best?

Whom does the Mayor work for?

In your mind, is the job of Cudahy Mayor an important post or should it be just a stepping stone/footnote on a resume?

If Mayor McCue would win the Cudahy election as Mayor and then runs for Lt. Governor, who pays for the special election?

Should Mayor McCue withdraw from the Cudahy Mayoral Election if he intends to run for Lt. Governor?
