The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

City Matters Part 2

Cudahy, Email, Mayor

This is more of the emails back and forth from me and Mayor McCue.  Watch how he states that I cut and paste and then he does it in such a manor that the sentences don’t make much sense and don’t flow.  Also watch how he doesn’t know to what I was talking about and then I remind him of the agenda, then he does.  Watch how he answers with non-answers and doesn’t answer others.

Remember this is originally based off of my post called Cudahy Director of Public Works / City Engineer

I will use some of Mayor McCue’s responses in blog posts at other dates!  I hope this gets to Tony Day!

I do know of one thing Mayor McCue was upset was that I quoted him last year from an article, that was in the Milwaukee Business Journal about the ABC (American Bowling Congress) that he said was wrong and wanted me to correct!  I told him to contact the Milwaukee Business Journal and have them to a correction, then I will!  He didn’t!

For all of those people always wanting to know why Mayor McCue would not comment on the public forums, you just might get your answer here!

Dear Mr. Hollenbeck,

I hope you are doing well.

It has come to my attention that you have raised questions about Cudahy’s department heads.  My door is always open to meet with Cudahy residents to discuss city matters.  Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience to set up a time for us to meet.  I look forward to meeting with you.

Sincerely,

Ryan McCue, Mayor

Thank you Mayor Ryan McCue for the offer of coming in to talk about city matters.  I would prefer to do it in email as that gives people the clearest and most unambiguous information possible.  It also doesn’t leave the door open to be misconstrued as it is in black and white.

So I will ask the question – Did you or anyone give permission to the Cudahy Director of Public Works / City Engineer Mary Jo Lange to work one day a week from her home?

Was there a blunder on the road construction on E Squire Ave?

Mr. Hollenbeck,

It is unfortunate that you are unwilling to meet with me.  I was looking forward to having a conversation with you.  A prime example of why a conversation would be better than email is your second question below.  I do not know what you are referring to.  What is the blunder?  The answer to your first question is no.

Sincerely,

Ryan McCue, Mayor

Mayor McCue,

I was told the road was done wrong and will be redone.  True?

Is the cost of redoing the road being pasted on to the taxpayers?  If not what fund will it come out of?

BTW – You do know of the blunder on the road, you were there for the water test, Right?

For final clarification – Has the Cudahy Director of Public Works / City Engineer Mary Jo Lange worked from her home during the work week on normal business work hours not including sick, personal or vacation time?

And according to Cudahy resident William Bray – “I went to the City Engineer and talked to her person.  What she told me 2 weeks ago is completely different now.  This road is getting to be costly now,” and that is why I like email instead of verbal!

See in email, people own their words and have to live with them.  Verbal doesn’t hold up unless it is taped or in the public forum.  You can get he said, she said otherwise.

See I plan on putting up the CDA, CC and such on youtube.

Here is one I did for Jack Vaccaro on the Community Bock Grant Revenue talking during the last CC meeting in the public speak.

I tried to do a transcript of it, but it was too hard once the over talking happens.

Dear Mr. Hollenbeck,

The project is not even completed.  So I don’t know how it could be considered “done wrong and will be redone”.  My invitation stands for us to meet at your convenience.

Sincerely,

Ryan McCue, Mayor

Maybe you were not there for the water test when the truck came out to spray the water for the pitch.  That must have been someone else.  My mistake.

You know I have an open email policy and comments on my blog.  You are more than welcome to reply to them.  Ms. Fritts has when something was not quite right.

Mr. Hollenbeck,

Your original email at 3:21 p.m. asked the question “Was there a blunder on the road construction on E Squire Ave?”  and I asked you for clarification of your question.

Your second email at 3:50 p.m. stated “I was told the road was done wrong and will be redone.  True?” and I provided a response.

Finally, at 4:23 p.m. you wrote “See I don’t want to be caught up in technicality to help refresh your memory Discussion of Concrete replacement at Dad’s Taylor Shop”

I am not a mind reader nor do I have the time to play your games.  Concrete replacement of a sidewalk is far from road construction.  I think that is more that a “technicality” as you put it.  The City of Cudahy is currently wrapping up major construction on E. Squire Ave. which is why I provided you the answers I did.

At 3:21 you also wrote “Thank you Mayor Ryan McCue for the offer of coming in to talk about city matters.  I would prefer to do it in email as that gives people the clearest and most unambiguous information possible.  It also doesn’t leave the door open to be misconstrued as it is in black and white.”  I would agree to that statement with most people but not with you.  You have been known to cut and paste portions of peoples’ comments which allows for readers to take things out of context.

I earned a journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh and I appreciate the freedom of the press and of free speech.  I appreciate honest unbiased reporting and it is a shame that we lost our local reporter due to a layoff.

I will respond any and all open record requests that you or any other residents have however neither I nor my staff will be taking time away from our responsibilities to the people of Cudahy to respond directly to the gross misinformation that you post on a regular basis.   Misinformation which is the result of you not taking the time to come to City Hall to confirm what you are told, or to find out firsthand what is happening with the City and its services.

You claim to want “only correct and true information and total communication is the only way that can happen.”  I could not agree with you more.  But how can that happen when you rely on anonymous sources, guest bloggers and “frustrated and concerned citizens”, without checking the facts or getting all sides of the story?  Make no mistake, we do care about the frustrations and concerns of our citizens, and we hope they will bring their problems to us directly.

My original email stands “My door is always open to meet with Cudahy residents to discuss city matters.  Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience to set up a time for us to meet.  I look forward to meeting with you.”  I expect that you will want to tape record our conversation, which as far as I know no one else has ever done, but is fine with me.  A simple conversation could have saved a lot of time.

In the meantime, while some may read your blog entries and yes, complain about their many inaccuracies, we will not waste taxpayer time responding to them.

Sincerely,

Ryan McCue, Mayor

Mayor McCue you claim that I, “You have been known to cut and paste portions of peoples’ comments which allows for readers to take things out of context.”

Cite me some examples!

Mayor McCue take a look at the Brookfield Now and how the Alderman themselves have a blog.  You too could have one.  Even State Senator Jim Sullivan has one and responds to people.

 http://www.brookfieldnow.com/

You’re not going to waste the taxpayer’s time and money statement is so laughable!

BTW – I do remember last year asking you for a list of inaccuracies that you claimed to have with MJS Mark Maley and never materialized the list when I asked for them.

Such hollow words and statements you have Mayor McCue.  Just brings back memories of your campaign promises and your website you took down after I pointed them out!

Mayor McCue, Blogs 101.

You do know for the most part blogs are opinionated and IS biased!

And it sounds like you have a problem with people who give their opinions anonymously.  I guess that at City Hall you don’t have a suggestion box that allows for anonymously to see how people truly feel! Or if you do, do you ask around who did?  See there is a fear for some to speak up and tell how they truly feel when their name needs to be known!
