Cudahy School District Will Not View President Obama's Speech Live

Cudahy, school, Obama

Dear School Superintendent Jim Heiden,

Is the Cudahy School System going to participate in watching President Barack Obama's planned nationwide speech to school students?

Randy Hollenbeck

Mr. Hollenbeck,

Students of the school district will not view the speech live.  We will have the speech taped and available for viewing at a later time.

I respect the President but I am not sure why this speech has to be made during the school day.  I would have found it to be much more helpful to have the speech aired during the evening or on a weekend when parents can view the speech with the student and reinforce the points they agree with.

I have to say I do agree with School Superintendent Jim Heiden’s assessment.
