The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

A Sad Day For My Community Now

While reading the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this morning I was saddened to read the following story.

Weekly papers cut 19 jobs

Journal Community Publishing Group cut 19 positions from its weekly Community Now newspapers Friday as part of a consolidation of its print and online operations.

"While we remain committed to the weekly newspapers, our efforts will be more focused on the MyCommunityNow.com Web sites, where we have seen monthly traffic increase dramatically over the past year," said Marty Kaiser, editor and senior vice president of the Journal Sentinel.

Total page views for the 26 MyCommunityNow.com Web sites hit 1.9 million in April, the highest level in the three-year history of the sites. The April figure was 30% more than March and a 92% increase over April 2008.

I have worked closely with many of the  people at the MyCommunityNow.com Web sites and was deeply saddened to hear Chantel Balzell who covered Cudahy and St. Francis was one of them that were cut. I considered Chantel a friend and I know she reads my blog. Chantel is a talented person and I know she will bounce back on her feet.

Chantel you can also contact me for anything and if I hear of anything through my contacts that may suit you, I will pass them on. It was a pleasure working with you and please keep in touch!
