McCain's Speech Higher in TV Ratings Than Obama's
Republican presidential candidate John McCain drew more than 38.9 million TV viewers to his acceptance speech. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's drew 38.3 million, according to Nielsen Media Research.
McCain's acceptance speech was carried on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Univision, Telemundo, Fox News and PBS.
You might not want to read too much into it since the numbers might end up being adjusted either way. I would have to say it looks like America wants to know what McCain has to say. GOP may just be energized and peaking at just the right time.
Now contrast that with Obama’s who had it shown on more channels. Add in Palin’s vs Biden and you can start to see how tight this is. Tight race favors McCain/Palin.
Last week, Nielsen said 38.4 million people watched Obama speak at a Denver stadium on the six commercial networks, along with BET, TV One, Univision and Telemundo — four networks that didn’t cover Palin’s speech. PBS added an estimated 4 million to that total.
