The Way I See It!
I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.
Real Voter Intimidation
This is the truth of real voter intimidation, not to be confused with what the liberals claim the republicans are doing about Voter ID. I covered that in detail in another post “Voter ID”
During the last election in 2006, my neighbor across the street, who normally is a liberal, decided this time he was voting for Mark Green and some other republicans. He is part of the union and was told that he needs to vote democratic. He saw me putting up my “Dump Doyle signs” and asked if he could have one, so I gave him one.
Cudahy's Image Problem
Image - form; appearance; semblance, the general or public perception of a company, public figure, etc., esp. as achieved by careful calculation aimed at creating widespread goodwill, to picture or represent in the mind
Wal-Mart & Traffic
Some people, when they hear the word “Traffic,” think negative thoughts like traffic jams/grid lock. While some people hear the word “Traffic,” think positive thoughts of increased people, money, and growth.
Be honest, when you hear the word “Traffic” what comes to mind?
Is it Fair & Right?
Have you checked out Oak Creek’s Woodman's at 8131 S Howell Ave. & Forest Hill just between Drexel and Puetz next to the old AC Delco? As of writing this, I have not been there.
Two must have items
If you suffer from back pain these, two items are great.
Three years ago, I had back surgery. My back still gets sore and I have a hard time sleeping.
March Top 10
It was requested that I do a monthly review of the most looked at topics I wrote. I will run down the top 10 and give a small overview of each.
Crime Part III - This is NOT an Unsolvable Problem
This is Part III of many on my series of Crime. Crime Part I - How To Reduce Crime In Cudahy , Illegal Aliens in Cudahy , and Crime Part II – The Statistics for Cudahy were the first installments.
Keeping Us In The "Noir"
Noir – French - means black or dark; noting the black numbers in roulette.
Why must I data mine for information on our city websites only to find it on non-government sites? This is public information. I am sure you have heard me state that.
Proposal On The Table
At the Plan Commission for the proposed Cudahy Station development, it appeared that many people are for Wal-Mart, just not on the IcePort site. That is great (except to McCue and Smith). Many said they would like a 230,000 size Wal-Mart, not the stripped down size of 138,000.
Plan Commission
Today I have posted TWO articles
After going to the Plan Commission for the proposed Cudahy Station development, it appeared that the Commission is in disarray. They didn’t seem to know what they were voting for. Even Mayor McCue asked Attorney Paul Eberhardy how it reads, with an answer of “The agenda is poorly written!”
How Childish
At the Plan Commission meeting, I received and handed out “YES Wal-Mart” signs. I kept a few for myself and my two neighbors.
To those who emailed me for signs, I have not forgotten and more are on the way!

History Repeating Page Two
A very informed reader emailed me this info about Cudahy School closing and Wal-Mart spin.
Wal-Mart has helped the schools in the South Milwaukee and Cudahy area, in 1992 Kosciuszko Elementary School was closed due to declining enrollment, it reopened in 1997 after a surge in the population and was reopened, it didn't have enough money for playground equipment. The Wal-Mart on 27th and college (near the Menards) that stored donated two tetherball poles to helped them out.
Making a Difference
*** Side Walk Update ****
While attending the Mayor’s State of City address, Alderman Joseph Mikolajczak approached me to let me know that the city is looking at what can be done for the sidewalk on Whitnall Ave and Layton Ave.
Turf War - What to Build?
I get the impression Wal-Mart is NOT really interested in the Pennsylvania and Layton site as some people would wish they should be.
Flamethrower
Here is a comment someone said to me after the State of the City address.
“Randy, you have stated that you do not hate the Mayor, does that mean you dislike him? Why use a flamethrower when a candle will do and what will it take to make peace with the Mayor? Your flame-throwing style may have a flaw. You can catch more bees with honey then vinegar.”
Talk Back - How to Make Our City Grow
Many communities have found the right mix of housing, retail and manufacturing to keep it viable and Cudahy needs to do the same. Cities are places where people can live, learn, work, visit and play. They should offer a wide range of services - schools, parks, health care, stores, restaurants and transportation, just to name a few. Cities that are vibrant, safe, and attractive are where residents, visitors and businesses want to be. Cudahy has what is necessary to be successful; it just needs to move forward.
To move forward you have to identify your problems, except them and fix them. Currently our city is in denial of many issues that plague our wonderful city. Also, Cudahy has a sort of Identity crisis I am told which I covered in “Cudahy's Image Problem”.
Common Sense Policy?
While bopping around on the other My Community Now cities sites. I came across this link and story on Franklins’:

Economic Downturn
Here in Cudahy, things are so good that we don’t want, nor need, this proposed Wal-Mart.
Cigarette Butts Contain Enough Nicotine To Kill Your Child!
Here's an unknown to consumers and not talked about fact about cigarettes from the manufacturers. The reason why tobacco plants produce nicotine is because nicotine is an insecticide. And it is a potent one -- 50 milligrams of nicotine is enough to kill an adult human being.
Stadium Tax Might Live On After 2014
In the paper and on local news the headline “Stadium tax might live on after 2014”
Of course!
Size Does Matter
Joe Henika is right “The national trend is [was] for Wal-Mart to build bigger and bigger Supercenters. That was the way Wal-Mart did things before. Now a Wal-Mart representative tells me that they rarely hear about the store size being too small it is usually that the store is way too big.
For The Next Plan Commission Meeting
I hope the agenda is clear to the Commission. I don’t want to be embarrassed of the train wreck that was the last Plan Commission meeting.
A train wreck in slow motion is still a train wreck.
Gas and Oil
The high gas prices Milwaukee saw a few years ago (2002-2003), boosting our prices to California prices, was a test by the oil industry to see what price people would still pay for gas. What better place to test then Milwaukee, Wisconsin a test bed, if it sells here, it will sell elsewhere. High prices are here to stay, we proved it years ago.
There is enough oil, but we cannot turn it into gas. The gas refineries do this to fatten the bottom line. Our problem is the oil companies control the refineries as well. Gas does not follow the supply and demand that we all learned about in school.
Wave Center
The Wave's facility will be unique to the metropolitan area and will bring large numbers of soccer parents to the facility for their children's games, practices, etc. It is certainly predictable that these people will be shopping in Cudahy before and after games and during practices. And there is ample local and national evidence of soccer's growing popularity here and throughout the country. $$$$$$$$
Some people at the Plan Commission meeting were upset with the TIF being used for the Wave. These people fail to recognize that an investment in a sports center creates jobs and generates tax monies. The tax monies come not only from the employment of local people, but also from the salaries of out of town athletes that train & those who will use the convention center. They also fail to see the investment for Cudahy Students that can use the facility during school for FREE. The quality of life that having the Wave Center brings to the Cudahy area far exceeds the more traditional job creation and other tax revenue areas. $$$$$$$$$$
