The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

Now Blogging Comment Changes

Blogging

By now many people have read the information below and noticed the Now site is changing the commenting.  Most of this is due over the years of people using fake names/handles to comment mostly to attack the bloggers.  Boy have I seen that and some of you falsely claimed MJS was fine with fake names and anonymous ones, WRONG!  I do keep in contact with MJS on items of this nature and my blog due to the straight talk I do along with Kevin Fischer’s blog do get monitored by the MJS.

MJS is aware that currently the old comments are not showing up and the new ones don’t show up on the main page with the number of the comments.

Please be patient while they work out the bugs.  They wanted to get the new system in place before the election time and are working very hard on the issues.

Thank you,

Randy Hollenbeck

NOW sites roll out Facebook commenting system

You may have noticed today that MyCommunityNOW sites have switched from our previous commenting system to a new model, which requires a Facebook account.

We hope this change, which requires people to post using their real names, will elevate the level of transparency, discussion and civility in our comment threads.

The new commenting system may look familiar to NOW readers who also visit Today'sTMJ4, which uses the same system.

We know there will still be users who post comments which violate our guidelines.  We would ask you to report abusive comments by clicking the "X" that appears on the top-right corner of a comment.  Users who have previously registered on a NOW site will have to create a Facebook account to comment.

We also would like to hear any feedback or technical problems you may have with the new system.  Drop us a line at news@cninow.com with the subject Facebook comments.

One current issue is that the comment bubble, which shows the amount of comments made to a story or blog post, is not properly updating.  Thanks for your patience as we work through these issues.

This site uses Facebook comments to make it easier for you to contribute.  If you see a comment you would like to flag for spam or abuse, click the "x" in the upper right of it.  By posting, you agree to our Terms of Use.
