The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

When You Open The Door Do They Have A Mask On?

Alderperson, Culture, Election, Ideology, Leadership

During this election season, when people come to your door, are they being genuine, open and honest or are they wearing a mask as if it is Halloween and hiding who they truly are?

Twenty years of votes can tell you much more about a man than twenty weeks of campaign rhetoric.  Campaign talk tells people who you want them to think you are.  How you vote tells people who you really are deep inside.  - Zell Miller

When they greet you and talk about themselves do they tend to agree with you and tell you what you want to hear?

“Man is not what he thinks he is, he is what he hides.” ― André Malraux

Are they vague in their answers to questions and speak in generalities?

When you talk to your neighbors about this person, does their view of this person match yours?

Now, some people feel that you need to have a more softened version of them.  They feel they need to be custom designed as they walk up and talk to you.  They put on a mask and change who they are to a more centered person, someone that is more like you, someone who changes the subject when they feel it is going to go in a direction that may expose them.

“Nothing good comes from hiding in the shadows” ― David A. Broughton

“You can keep as quiet as you like, but one of these days somebody is going to find you.” ― Haruki Murakami

Their greatest fear is that you would see their true identity and what they truly stand for.  These people are classic politicians and find to get elected they MUST hide who they truly are!

I have NOT and WILL NOT do that or be like that.  What you see, hear, and read IS who I am!

The way it actually works is the reverse.  You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.  - Margaret Young

I am not running from who I am, what I said, what I have written or what I stand for.  It is all here on the CudahyNow site for you to see and review.  For you to sift through, data mine or see.  I am genuine and don’t have to distance myself from things, attempt to remake myself or move in any direction to pander to people or for votes.  What you see and have read is who I am.  I have continued to blog and have not run away from it and what I say.  I haven’t shied away under the disguise that I am running for alderman so now my blog goes silent or almost silent I keep saying how I feel about things just as I have for years and will continue to even when I become alderman of the third district.  I am a very opinionated person but I clearly understand my role as alderman and I serve the people and it is their voices that need to be heard and followed, not mine or my agenda.

“Never hide yourself!  When you say something, don’t be in the shadow; let everyone see you!  Whatever you say always put your name under it!  Be courageous enough not to use any mask; don’t forget that hiding among the bushes is the affair of the cowards!  Let the Sun shines on your face and everyman see you!” ― Mehmet Murat ildan

They have to lie or double talk because if they told us the truth nobody would ever vote for them. I'd say this applies to about 1/2 of the politicians out there.  They are bread by handlers how to say things in a nuanced fashion so as to say as much as possible about what they are for without actually saying what they really believe.  One example of this tactic is to triangulate on an issue so you are covered on both sides.”
