Questions to the Cudahy Mayoral Candidates on the State of the City Meetings

2013 Election, Cudahy, Mayor, John Hohenfeldt, Tony Day, State of the City

Candidate Mayor Day,

I convinced former Mayor McCue to hold a yearly State of the City town hall meetings, is there a reason you did not continue that?  If you are re-elected would you start in 2014 to hold the State of the City town hall meetings so people can find out firsthand what is going on and ask one-on-one questions?

Side notes - Former Mayor Hohenfeldt answered back first as the email address for Mayor Day was not working get as it was dormant and did require me to email his City address to let him know that is was not.  I few days later I did see the website and email address was active now.  I held them until both responded.

Yes, I will begin the Town Hall meetings.  It is important for the residents of Cudahy to be informed on different issues and to be able to speak out on their concerns.

Randy:

The answer to your question is yes I would hold at least one town hall meeting per year for residents to come and hear what is going on.

Serving as Mayor, I was open to using several forms of communication.  Talking directly to residents, the media, civic and community groups, e mail, telephone.  I never put myself in a position where I was unavailable to talk with residents.  As Mayor, you are the Chief Spokesperson for the city, and should be available.

Learning from the past, I could have held these types of meetings during my term, but did not.  Thus, I will change when elected in 2013.
