The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

Open Record Requests

CRG, Cudahy, Info, Policy

While open record requests for public information is new to Cudahy and the City Hall people, it is not a new thing in most cities.  I had the chance to meet a few fellow bloggers recently and many of them do them all the time.  While there is a link on the city website, it is not easily found.

So here it is: http://www.ci.cudahy.wi.us/CityDepartments/Clerk/RecordsRequest.html

Cudahy public officials and committees directory

Cudahy public officials and committees directory

This has been request by many readers; sorry it took so long to get it posted.  It is important to know who represents Cudahy and for the citizens to be engaged and informed!

I personally think that all of this information should be included in the City Newsletters because information is power and the people need information to have power.

If and Only IF

Cudahy, Info, Leadership, Local Government, retail, Wal-Mart

It is just too bad the rest of the Cudahy Alderpersons didn’t send out a questionnaire like Third District’s Mark Otto.

To know is to be.  As information is all power, so too can power come from not knowing.  It is only for the knowing to wield instead of the all.  As if information is known, the power is diminished, but the glory can be shared.

Could A City Hall Protest Be coming To Cudahy

Cudahy, Info, Oak Creek, Police, retail, Wal-Mart

In my post titled: Cudahy Common Council Meeting Dec 2nd, 2008 (includes audio file) a reader reached out and posted the following comment:

“Randy, is there anything the citizens can do to still make the Wal-Mart happen?  What about a protest outside city hall, and try to get as much news coverage as we can?  WISN radio has been doing a good job, but I think more exposure is needed.  I hate to see this just end like this.  What can we do?”

"Write-In" candidate for Cudahy 4th District Alderperson seat

Cudahy, Election, Local Government

Tina Dondajeski of the Patrick Cudahy Park Friends group has decided to run for the Fourth District Alderperson seat in the Jan. 20 special election as a “Write-In” candidate to fill a vacancy on the Cudahy Common Council from when Sean Smith resigned.

Eighth District County Supervisor Pat Jursik suggested she run for the spot when Mr. Smith first resigned, but home improvements diverted her attention from the race.

Be Safe - The Best Smoke/CO Alarm

Info, Products, Safety, Time Savers

The First Alert ONELINK Talking Wireless Alarms are by far the best Smoke/CO Alarm I have seen on the market.  The ones I picked up from Ace in Oak Creek was the First Alert Onelink combination smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector.

What makes the Smoke/CO Alarms the best is the fact that they talk to each other wirelessly.  So, if a fire is detected in the basement the ones on the other levels will also tell you about.  Now they are not cheap.  Each unit was 69.99 at Ace.  Wal-Mart, Target and K-Mart didn’t seem to carry them at the time I bought mine in fall.  They do come in different models without the CO and such.

Please don’t forget to look at “The December poster for Milwaukee's 10 Most Wanted” post, but this information from Sgt Blunt of the Cudahy Police Department was too important not to post right away.

As some of you may know, Cudahy has been experiencing a rash of garage burglaries during the past 10 days to 2-week period, many on the north side and within the Blockwatch area of Cudahy.
