Wisconsin Long John Silvers Closed

Food, Restaurant, Email, Wisconsin

Well you might have noticed that all of the Long John Silvers in Wisconsin are gone.

It puzzled me and when I asked the Store Manager at the Oak Creek location and was told to contact headquarters, I did.

Can someone explain to me why all of the Wisconsin Long John Silvers closed?

Thank you for contacting us, Randy.  Long John Silver's is 100% franchisee owned.  This means that all of our locations are individually owned and operated.  Therefore, someone must express interest in operating a franchise in your area.  If you know someone who'd be interested, send them our way!

Thanks,

No you are not getting what I am asking.  We had LJSs in Wisconsin and now they just closed last month.  Why?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Randy,

Since all of our locations are individually owned and operated, a franchisee can choose to close stores at their discretion if they are no longer interested in operating in a certain area.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just find it odd that all of the Wisconsin locations closed.

So does that mean they didn’t want to pay the franchise fee since it increased?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I stopped at another location and talked to management who asked I not disclose which location or their name and was told the franchise fee more than doubled and they were not going to get any help with advertisement costs.  Given all of that it just was not cost effective to continue with Long John Silvers at the locations even in a combination restaurant.
