The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

A Reader's Thoughts on the Cudahy DPW

Cudahy, DPW, Email

This was in my inbox,

Randy,

I wanted to just say that once again I am impressed with the efficiency and ability of the DPW in doing the Fall Cleanup as well as the weekly leaf sweeping.  Having lived in many other states, I can say that this is the one instance where the crew takes their jobs seriously.  I won’t pretend to understand what is going on with the internal workings of the office, from what I hear.

However, the people on the street seem to take care in what they are doing.

One thing I don’t understand is in the newsletter it stated to not pile up leafs above the curb, but I’ve seen a DPW truck push piles together before the vacuum comes.  Is there a disconnect in what the actual workers want and what the officials are writing?  I’ll be happy to pile up leaves in a pile if that’s what they want.

Meanwhile, I wish the Cudahy dump was still available to drop items off with no additional charge, other than what we already pay in taxes for City services.  The bi-annual pick-up of yard waste is helpful (obviously very few people know what a "curb line" is), but there are definitely times when I need to drop off other items .  If they had days when they would pick up larger items like other cities that would work.

I wonder if the Cudahy transfer station is seeing a savings at all from the change to an additional fee service (again, which is above the taxes we already pay for City Services).  Since the US is so enthralled with amnesty, how about a trash dumping amnesty day.
