WEAC knows Act 10 is working and they don’t want you to know about it which is why they will not release their own State District Survey Study!

Governor Walker’s letter to WEAC President Mary Bell

April 12, 2012

President Mary Bell

Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC)

P.O. Box 8003

Madison, WI  53708-8003

Dear President Bell,

School district survey data collected by WEAC do not appear on your website and you have refused to provide my office with any answers after repeated attempts to learn more about the results collected over the last decade.  In the interest of fully informing the public about the progress schools have made over the last year, I am asking you to report the complete survey data on your website.

I would also appreciate answers to the following questions:

What was the average percentage of school districts that laid off teachers between the 2002-03 and 2010-11 school years?  Does this figure include retirements?

What is the average percentage of school district that increased class sizes between the 2002-03 and 2010-11 school years?

What is the average percentage of school districts that maintained all of their extracurricular activities between the 2002-03 and 2010-11 school years?

In the interest of learning more about your survey, I look forward to your reply.  It appears to me that your data shows school districts are in better shape this year than at any time in the last decade.  I encourage you to make this information available to the public and you members.

Sincerely,

Scott Walker

Governor
