I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.
I knew someone who once said they were a conservative. They constantly would tell me that all they care about is the truth and being fair.
While they watch Fox News Cable Channel, they told me, “Well this is still not non-spin news coverage.”
I told them that while it might have a right lean, it is closer to the truth than anything else. I also said that in a perfect world news reporting would go back to just reporting the news instead of injecting their political viewpoint into the story and information.
I enjoyed the thought that Fox News might lean right (do they hide behind that or do they openly state it?) for the most part the NEWS is reported fair and balanced.
This person said to me, “What about Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly?”
I said they are commentators giving their opinions, so yes it is biased!
For some reason this person just doesn’t get it and I don’t think they know in the context of politics what a conservative is and means. I also don’t think they grasp the difference between “News Reporting” and “Editorial/Opinion Column/Show”.
To see how far the mainstream media including its anchors, just watch the loaded questions they give to the GOP debaters and contrast that to when Fox News anchors have asked questions.
In trying to be fair and balanced in life they shifted from the right to the center. And that is just fine, but stop calling yourself a Conservative in the context of politics is all I ask. Be honest with yourself and others. Stop kidding yourself and face the honest reality.
No matter how much you want something to be one way, it is only the way it is!
