The Way I See It!

Check out the Cudahy personnel committee minutes of August 16, 2011, where they approved a contract from 1-1-2011 to 12-31-2011, with a union that does not exist (technically under the act 10 bill). 

 

So much for our local elected officials and fiscal responsibility!

         MINUTES OF THE PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING

HELD AT THE CITY OF CUDAHY MUNICIPAL BUILDING,

5050 S LAKE DR. CUDAHY, WI, ON

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

ROLL CALL

Ald. Schissel called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM. The following answered, “present” to roll call:  Ald. Otto, Schissel, Mikolajczak, Litkowiec and Bartoshevich.  Comptroller Williamson, Mayor Day, DPW Director Lange, Clerk Treasurer Broderick and Dir. of Office Services Toms-Neary were also in attendance. 

 

MEETING STATEMENT

The proper open meeting statement was read at this time.

 

  1. Adjourn into closed session per sec. 19.85(1)(c),(e), and (g), Wis. Stats. To discuss employee compensation issues, labor agreement negotiations, pending grievances and litigation and likely litigation, employee disciplinary matters and issues related to same for all bargaining units:  a) Discussion and necessary action regarding amendments to Economic Development Director Ordinance.

b) Discussion and necessary action regarding Local 742 negotiations General employee bargaining unit and Local 742 Technical and Health Services Assn.  January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011 and c) Discussion and necessary action regarding disciplinary matters and request of DPW Director to hire due to upcoming vacancies. MOTION BY ALD. MIKOLAJCZAK, SECOND BY ALD. BARTOSHEVICH to adjourn into closed session at 5:32 P.M.  On the roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

  1. Adjourn closed session and reconvene into open session.  MOTION BY ALD. MIKOLAJCZAK, SECOND BY ALD. LITKOWIEC to adjourn closed session and reconvene in open session at 6:00 P.M.  Motion carried unanimously.
  2. Necessary action on items discussed in closed session. 

MOTION BY ALD. BARTOSHEVICH, SECOND BY ALD. LITKOWIEC to approve the amended ordinance for the Economic Development Director as presented.  On the roll call vote, Alderpersons Mikolajczak, Litkowiec, Bartoshevich and Schissel voted “aye”.  Alderperson Otto voted “no”.  Motion carried.

MOTION BY ALD. BARTOSHEVICH, SECOND BY ALD. LITKOWIEC to approve settlement agreements between the City of Cudahy and AFSCME Local 742 General and AFSCME Local 742 Technical and Health Services Assn.  On the roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

MOTION BY ALD. MIKOLAJCZAK, SECOND BY ALD. OTTO to fill DPW positions as needed including terminated employee, contingent upon required retirement letters.  On the roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Adjourn.  MOTION BY ALD. MIKOLAJCZAK, SECOND BY ALD. BARTOSHEVICH to adjourn AT 6:09 P.M.  Motion carried unanimously.
