On Saturday, my son Chris and I ran in the Run/Walk for Project Concern in Sheridan Park. The event raised $1,800 ! Congratulations to the Cudahy High School students who planned, organized and hosted this run and walk. What a great class project! The students organized this event as part of their environmental science class.
I saw lots of people I knew and it was a perfect day for running. The course was a simplified version of the Cudahy cross-country course. The runners completed two loops of the course for a 5k run. Walkers followed the runners and followed the same course.
I hope this becomes an annual event!
In other news, the Miller Lite/UPAF Ride for the Arts is being held on Sunday, June 5th. I have not even ridden my bike yet this year due to our winter-like spring weather! I will have to get the bikes out, pump up the tires and make sure everything is in good working order. I have done this ride every year except for one year when I missed it due to heavy rain. Hopefully there will be good weather this year. The course will cross the Hoan Bridge this year.
