Let's Move It.
Why movement? The simple answer is oxygen! Oxygen is vital for two reasons. Our organs need it and it is a way of purging waste and toxins from our bodies. Oxygen is essential to our brain, nerves, glands and internal organs. Oxygen is needed for life. We can survive for a few weeks without food, a few days without water. Without oxygen, we will die within minutes. Exercise increases the amount of oxygen to our cells. Viruses and cancer cannot survive in an oxygen rich environment. Most people are deficient in oxygen. An oxygen rich body is an alkaline body.
Exercise also makes the lymphatic system work better. Most Americans have a clogged and sluggish bloodstream and lymphatic system. With moving our bodies the way we were intended to, it increases the movement of lymph fluid which assists with the elimination of toxins and also helps with healing and weight loss. All cells in our bodies produce toxic waste. Our cells need stimulation for the waste to be eliminated. Our cells need to be stimulated to be healthy. If our cells cannot remove waste, they could die off or begin to grow abnormal or out of control which causes tumors, cancer or degeneration of organs.
Exercise is also a great tool for release of stress. Stress is holding onto negative energy. This can cause muscles to be tight and your body becomes acidic. Stress is a killer.
When we exercise or move our bodies the way we were designed to, the elimination process works much better. Think about what dogs do when they are taken for a walk. Remember the longer food sits in our colons, the more toxic it becomes to our bodies. These toxins enter our bloodstreams. We need our elimination systems working up to par if we want to remain healthy.
For ageless health, exercise is essential. But, for many who have struggled with weight issues, exercise can bring many negative feelings and emotions. Therefore I thought I would talk about activities to support and nurture you as you begin your journey to healthy living.
The king of exercise is walking. Brisk walking brings most of your body into action. This creates harmony and circulation of the blood. We were created for walking. It is a most natural form of movement which does not require practice, equipment, or a gym membership. Yet it still eases you into a higher level of health while bringing you an overall sense of well being. Just 30 minutes a day is associated with
Lower LDL (bad) cholesterol
Raising HDL (good) cholesterol
Lower blood pressure
Lowers risk and manages type 2 diabetes
Lifts your mood
Keeps you strong and fit.
Another great form of exercise is yoga. Yoga is a cleansing practice which proves to be effective in improving various disorders. Yoga positions create harmony and flexibility throughout our entire body. Yoga increases lubrication to joints and tendons. Yoga is excellent for toning muscles that have become weak. By gently stretching muscles and joints, yoga gets optimum blood supply to various parts of our bodies which helps flush out toxins and brings nourishment. This leads to increased energy and slower aging. If you doubt me on this, please check out this woman. Bette Calman. She is an 83 year old nimble granny who has been teaching yoga over 40 years. Forget age she says. "The body is remarkable. It can stretch and stretch and still get better all the time" She also states she can do more today than she could 50 years ago.
Amazing and a true inspiration.
