I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.
I cannot tell you how many times in comments or emails I get: “You are biased, This is so one sided, Where is the fair and balanced, Where is the counterpoint?”
This is a blog and I am a blogger or pundit.
I post articles that I think might interest you or interest me, some of which might be opinion pieces from me, others news information you might not have seen or heard. Fair use act allows for information to be used from other sources and I give the source.
But this is one sided or biased. This is my side and comments are your side (counterpoint if you disagree and point if you agree).
People even have issues if you clearly label it Opinion or Editorial.
Case and point from MJS:
Hot-button events provoke bias charges from left, right
We are doing our best to respond to each phone call, e-mail and letter. We explain to readers the difference between our news pages and our opinion pages. We point out they are produced by separate staffs, and that what appears on the editorial page has no effect on the news coverage. On our news pages, we strive to report the news as truthfully, accurately and fairly as possible. On our opinion pages, we believe it is important to give readers a wide variety of perspectives to consider.
