I am a husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. I believe in sharing my talents and experiences by giving back to the community by giving my time to coaching, church and especially to the disability community. I truly believe that all men and women are created equally.
As I began my bloggong career, I outlined what the Wisconsin Board For People with Developmental Disabilities does for individuals with developmental disabilities. I outlined what we do as part of our State Plan to accomplish those goals. We have started the process for our next State Plan that will run from 2012 through 2016.
On Wednesday, August 18, we will be holding a State Plan Input Cafe at the Arlington Court Housing Development, 1633 N Arlington Place, Milwaukee, from 3:00-6:00.
During a café, all attendees will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas, as well as discuss what is working and what isn’t working for them. The thoughts and ideas shared at the cafés will be taken into consideration by the BPDD when developing the 2012-2016 State Plan. Anyone interested in developmental disability issues is welcome and encouraged to attend.

For our plan to be successful, we need to know from you what the important issues are. We can not make these decsions alone. If you can not attend this meeting, please check the BPDD website: http://www.wi-bpdd.org/stateplan/stateplaninput.cfm#stplancafe. There is a schedule of cafes available. There is also the opportunity to voice your concerns online.
Finally, if you would like to host an Input Cafe, please feel free to contact me and we can work out the details. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
