Four places to be on Fourth

The South Shore has Fourth of July events times four again this year. Bay View, Cudahy, St. Francis and South Milwaukee will celebrate with various events that include high-profile parades early on July 4 and, of course, traditional fireworks once the sun goes down.

Date: Saturday, July 4
Noon parade beginning at Packard and Grange; flag-raising ceremony, dance teams, musical acts, children's games, magic shows and other activities; fireworks in the park at 9:20 p.m.; Sheridan Park, 4800 S. Lake Drive, Cudahy.

St. Francis Fourth of July Celebration
Date: Saturday, July 4
Bikes judging, 9:45 a.m.; parade kick-off, 10 a.m.; ice cream at park, 10:45 to 11:15 a.m.; opening ceremony, 11:15 a.m.; childrens games, pony rides, petting zoo, inflatables, talent show; fireworks at 9:15 p.m.; Milton Vretenar Municipal Park, 4224 S. Kirkwood Ave., St. Francis.

Fun on the Fourth

Cudahy's Independence Day celebration kicks off at noon with a parade beginning at Packard and Grange that will wind its way north down Packard to Layton and then east on Layton to Lake Drive and on to Sheridan Park and an afternoon of festivities. Events including a flag-raising ceremony, dance and musical acts, clown and magic shows and kids' games. Fireworks begin at 9:20 p.m.
